The West Australian (Perth, WA : 1879-1954), Monday 25 March 1946, page 10
INQUESTS.
Suicide at South Fremantle. Percival John Hillbrick (71), of Walker-street, South Premantle, died at his home on March 5 from a self inflicted gunshot wound in the head. This finding was returned by the Acting-Coroner (Mr. W. F. Samson, J.P.) in the Fremantle Courthouse on Friday. The Coroner added that the deceased was depressed at the time of death. Evidence by witnesses disclosed that he had been in ill-health for four years and was suffering from an advanced heart disease, cancer of the-lip and dropsy in both legs. Dr. W. P. White, of Cottesloe, testified that Hillbrick would only have lived for a short period if he had not shot himself. Sgt. A. T. Rulfn assisted the Coroner.
